A ground-up, fully custom, wall mountable computer case for my a mid-spec workstation. With a Ryzen 7 5800x, RTX 3060 12GB, and 64GB RAM, this PC is both power and elegance. Designed in Autodesk Inventor Professional, FEA material stress tested in Autodesk Inventor Nastran In-CAD, rendered in Keyshot 9, prepared for FDM fabrication in Ultimaker Cura 3D, and printed using a Creality Ender 3. While maintaining a balance between school and my part-time position at Best Buy, this project spanned one year from initial hand-drawn sketches to a final design in CAD after FEA load tests to final fabrication on my 3D-printer. One of the top challenges that inspired the final design involved finding a solution around the Creality Ender 3's small print bed size of 230 mm x 230 mm. Ultimately, the 3 foot by 2 foot black plate that all of the computer parts attached to was split into 15 smaller plates that fit on the print bed of my 3D-printer. These 15 individual plates were joined together through either a 80 mm or 40 mm insert, depending on the depth clearance of the slots on the sides of the plates, and then screwed into to firmly hold together the plates and maintain structural integrity. On average, each plate was sharing about 10 - 20 inserts. Some key features of this computer case are slide-on wall brackets for ease of removal from the wall when repairing the system, zip-tie tie down points for trouble-free cable management, and easy-to-remove side panel caps for straightforward acrylic panel separation from the case to access components whenever necessary.
