A custom plastic shelf with two models that can either accommodate 6 or 9 shot glasses depending on their size. The design of the shelf follows a minimalist, modern style, allowing it to complement many modern or industrial bars. Designed in Autodesk Inventor Professional, FEA material stress tested in Autodesk Inventor Nastran In-CAD, rendered in Keyshot 9, prepared for FDM fabrication in Ultimaker Cura 3D, and printed using a Creality Ender 3. Recently learning the basics of FEA simulation and material properties such as tensile strength, shear strength, and modulus of elasticity, I created this simple project to practice using Autodesk's Inventor Nastran software and apply weight-bearing loads to the CAD model with accurate material properties for PLA plastic to gather data on the shelf's feasibility following FDM manufacturing.
